Steno Agency SMS Terms of Service
Last Updated October 12, 2026:
These Text Messaging Terms of Service (the “Texting Terms”) govern the provision, receipt, and delivery of text messages by or on behalf of Steno Agency, Inc. (collectively, “Steno,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Depending on the consent you’ve provided, our text messages (the “Steno Texts”): (1) respond to your questions or provide you with information you requested from us, (2) provide you with information about your work with Steno, including alerts about available jobs, updates to jobs you’ve accepted (such as last-minute cancellations, time or location changes, and reminders), and other notices about your Steno account; and/or (3) provide you with promotional content.
E-SIGN Disclosure and Agreement
By providing your consent to receive Steno Texts (as described below), you also consent to the use of an electronic record to document your agreement. You may withdraw your consent to the use of the electronic record by emailing us at legal@steno.com with “Revoke Electronic Consent” in the subject line.
To view and retain a copy of this disclosure or any information regarding your enrollment in this program, you will need (i) a device (such as a computer or mobile phone) with a web browser and Internet access and (ii) either a printer or storage space on such device. For a free paper copy, or to update our records of your contact information, email us at legal@steno.com with contact information and the address for delivery.
Agreement and Consent to Receive Steno Texts
You can provide us with your consent to receive Steno Texts in multiple ways, such as by applying for a job or other work opportunity with or through us, initiating text messages with us, or otherwise providing consent to receive Steno Texts. We may offer multiple Steno Texts programs, and you may provide consent to more than one Steno Texts program. By providing your consent, you understand we may send you texts even if your number is registered on a state or federal Do Not Call list. You further agree to these Texting Terms, the Steno Terms of Use, and the Steno Privacy Policy.
By providing consent, you authorize us to use automated or nonautomated technology to send Steno Texts to the number associated with your consent. You may opt into receiving Steno Texts with marketing content, and consent to receiving marketing texts is not a condition of purchase.
Eligibility
By consenting to receive Steno Texts, you represent that you are 18 years of age or older and understand the obligations and agree to the terms set forth in these Texting Terms and the Steno Terms of Use. You further represent that you are the subscriber to the relevant phone number or that you are the customary user of that number on a family or business plan and for which you are authorized to opt into Steno Texts.
Costs of Steno Texts
Steno does not charge you for Steno Texts. But message and data rates may apply, so depending on your plan with your wireless or other applicable provider, you may be charged by your carrier or other applicable provider. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.
Frequency of Text Messages
We may send you an initial message confirming your enrollment in Steno Texts. After that, you will receive recurring text messages, and the specific amount may vary depending on how you use our services (e.g. whether you reply with HELP, the number of times you’ve requested information from Steno, the number of jobs you’ve signed up for with Steno, the number of Steno Texts programs you have enrolled in).
Participating Carriers
Steno Texts are supported on all U.S. carriers. The supporting mobile carriers may change without notice, and the particular Steno Texts program you join, including those operated through a different number, may be limited to specific carriers. Steno and the mobile carriers (for example, T-Mobile) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Steno Texts may not be compatible with all cell phone models.
Opting Out of Steno Texts
You may opt out of Steno Texts at any time. To opt out of Steno Texts from a specific phone number, you must text STOP to that number. We may not recognize other opt-out commands, and you agree that we are not responsible if you submit opt-out commands that do not comply with these Texting Terms. You must separately opt out of each number from which you’ve provided us with consent to receive Steno Texts. If you participate in multiple Steno Texts programs, you must also separately opt out of each program. After we receive your “STOP” text, we may send you confirmation of your opt-out via text message. You may opt back into Steno Texts by providing your consent at a later time.
We reserve the right to modify any number used to send Steno Texts at our discretion and will notify you as required by law. Please be aware that messages, including STOP or HELP requests, sent to a number we no longer operate may not be received by us. We are not responsible for fulfilling requests conveyed through messages sent to numbers we no longer operate.
Modifications to these Texting Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Texting Terms, or any part thereof, or add or remove terms at any time, and such modifications, additions or deletions will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued enrollment in Steno Texts shall be deemed to constitute acceptance by you of such modifications, additions, or deletions.
